Great for on the go power

Why You Ned to Buy Goal Zero 19006 Adventure Batteries

Goal Zero 19006 Adventure Batteries

I got this to put in my emergency kit, it'll recharge batteries for my ham radio. The fact that I can use it to recharge a cell phone, ipod, or other usb powered device is just bonus in my opinion. I haven't been able to give it a good field test yet, but I have used it in sub-optimal conditions and it still charges the batteries up (certainly much more slowly than it would under prime conditions). I'm going to have to save up for one of the more powerful kits to power my CPAP in the event of a disaster, I'll definitely be using for camping as well. All in all, a great product. The quality is quite apparent, it doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart in your hands and in fact, gives the impression that it could hold up to quite a bit of abuse (although, I for one won't intentionally test it in this regard). The battery charger works great with or without the solar panel. I've been able to plug it into a usb port and charge batteries up without any issues. It also works as advertised in that it can supply power through the built in usb port. I completely recommend this for people looking for backup/emergency power for small electronic devices.

Best solar charging system that I have found. I work in the outdoor industry and have always been frustrated with the options for charging electronics when on extended trips. Goal0 has provided the solution. Check out all their elite series.

    Guide 10 kit:

    Pros:
Fast charging of AA or AAA batteries with the included charger or directly charge USB or DC devices from the Nomad panel.
Charging unit can be used to charge USB devices when not plugged into the panel
Charging unit has a LED flashlight built in
    Very durable
Charging unit can be charged from USB, AA, AAA, or Panel

Cons: panels are not flexible (flexible panels are not as efficient)

Summary: the best system to charge AA, AAA, USB, or small DC electronics in the field.

Bonus: Excellent customer service and other products.

  3. This product is long over due in the market. Most solar chargers change an internal battery then the energy goes from battery to battery to whatever your charging causing a lot of energy lose. This product is the first I have found that you can charge straight from the panel. Having a USB port is very helpful. I charge all of my electronics with this system. I have bought 4 or 5 different solar chargers over the years and this is by far the best value and best unit I have found.

  4. Great for on the go charging. This stuff is tough

The solar panel doesn't disappoint either even when overcast my phone gets a slow charge which is great. I does take a bit longer then charging versus the guide 10 when the panel is in direct sun however. Oh it does scratch easy but I haven't noticed any effect on charges with the few minor ones on mine. The panel can get take a light shower of rain but I still keep the connectors area covered with ziploc bag just to make sure

The guide 10 is amazing, I thought that it being plastic would make it easy to break or damage, I was surprise this thing has traveled with me everywhere and get knocked and dropped only thing happened is a few scratches. It does charge other nickel metal hudride (niMH) batteries too but I found that the ones that it came with work the best for holding a lasting charge.

For someone that adventures and needs a light system to keep your small electronics charged this is the system for it

    Hope this helps you

  5. I was very skeptical about purchasing this solar charger after reading the reviews.
I was going to take it on a 14 day back country hunting trip and needed some was to charge my android phone as I use it as a camera, GPS and alarm clock. I took this item in the mountains and on a nice sunny 60 degree day I hung it up on a small pine tree and occasionally adjusted it to be at the best angle to the sun and it charged my phone in just a little over 2 hours. I also charged my dads phone and the battery pack from Goal0 as well.
I love this solar charger and feel strongly enough about it I decided to write a review as I was extremely skeptical..

    Great product!!

  6. First I should say this - Model 19006 comes with batteries 19007 doesn't. I got this information directly from support@goalzero.com. That may be why some differences in reviews between the Goalzero reviews on Amazon. Buy the 19006 is you want batteries included.

I was pleasantly surprised how well this has worked. I thought it only worked in bright settings but my Droid 2 was able to show a direct charge with an overcast; there is much doubt about Apple Products but with any Android phones you will have no problem.

The Guide 10 Pack works great as well. I took it with me on a weekend trip and I was able to keep my phone nicely charged throughout waiting at the airport and on the plane with heavy usage.

Lowes sells the Escape 150 pack and I am considering that for camping usage based on my experiences with the Nomad 7 and Guide 10.
