kinivo btx450 wireless speaker

Why You Ned to Buy Kinivo BTX450 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker

Kinivo BTX450 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker

I'm a 52 year old audiophile who's been buying and comparing high end audio gear for over 35 years and I can assure you this little box does a very competent job of making music.

One must of course keep their expectations within reason as to the total sound output and low range of bass a tiny device can produce, but that said, the BTX450 is quite impressive. It's design allows it to produce respectable bass extension from it's small cabinet, which is a bit smaller than say a one liter water bottle. Of course you don't get a wide stereo field with a single box device, but it does throw a tiny little soundstage none the less. It gets loud enough before distorting to feel like a quality unit approaching the performance of the more expensive offerings from Jambox and Bose at a much lower price. It's clean and simple design look good, and it's small size and rechargeable battery operation make it quite versatile.

This unit pairs easily and with up to 8 devices, and when plugged in with it's charger, it can charge another device via it's USB jack. It has a 5.5mm mini-jack input as well as the Bluetooth option, and it is small enough to pack for travel.

It's a great choice for the price and it's size.

  2. This is a very nice BT speaker for the price. It has good sound (I am not an audiophile so cannot speak to the highs, lows etc.) - it sounds much better than the native speakers on my Surface. Can get quite loud and fills the room nicely. I like the USB port for charging another device and the built in battery is great (have not tested the battery for life, its just nice to have the option). Overall very happy with this speaker at this pricepoint (about $50). Thanks!

This is an elegant little speaker, that plays as loudly and clearly and with nearly as much definition as I've heard from any of the small, comparably sized, speaker docks I've owned over the years. The advantage of this one, though, is there's no docking necessary. It hooks up to your phone, or tablet or computer via Bluetooth, and then plays whatever you like to play. It also comes with a 3.5mm audio cable that allows you to hook up devices that aren't Bluetooth enabled, so it can be used like a more standard small speaker system. It'll charge your device via USB cable, as long as it's plugged in.

It's very simple and streamlined - just an on/off button, a button you use to turn on Bluetooth and you hold it down to pair with a device of your choosing, and an up/down volume button. It gets loud enough to fill a room and with very little distortion, considering its size. The speaker has a passive sub-woofer built in, which doesn't quite boom but gives better bass than other speakers of its size and in its price range. It is well built, and for its size and what it costs I was surprised by how good it sounds. It may not be quite enough for an audiophile but is easily good enough for music in the background. It would be great for a bedroom or a living room or a small apartment.

There's a built-in battery, that charges when it's plugged in, allowing for this to be a truly portable speaker, that you can bring outside or in the car, or wherever you'd like to play your music. It doesn't come with a remote - but it doesn't need one, since once it's paired, you can control it with your device. The range is comparable with what I've found on most Bluetooth devices I own - in the same room it works great, but if you go around corners (say, if you walk into the bathroom and close the door with your phone) it gets a bit choppy. It looks good, dark and unobtrusive, and would fit well in an office or apartment or bedroom. I'm very happy with it.

    Highlights:

    -Convenient size, nice design
    -Bluetooth-enabled, for streaming music
-Very nice sound, that gets loud without distortion, with built-in passive subwoofer
-Built-in rechargeable battery, for 4-5 hours of portable play
-Works indoors, and outdoors, perfect for parties and for easy listening

About the video: it's quick, really just to give a sense for the size of this device. There's no display, just four buttons, so not much to see. (The very brief snippet of sound is from Grizzly Bear's gun-shy.)

I was provided an early release sample of this product for reviewing purposes.

  5. I cannot over-express how pleasantly surprised I have been with the quality and performance of this speaker:

Clear crisp sound that can fill a room with very little distortion. The bass won't thump your windows but you can clearly hear parts of the music in low, mid and high range. The speaker has a nice warm sound.

Long battery life - approximately 1.5 days with frequent usage.

Bluetooth is quick to connect and has a considerable 25-30 ft range. Speaker will remember 8 different bluetooth pairings.

Writing this review has convinced me to buy a second speaker...

  6. I have this speaker for more than a week and loving it. Use this to all my bluetooth players and connect easily. Talk about volume this speaker is loud. The battery life is very good. The range is also very good, it will go through the wall. Charge this baby and take it outside. The price is also very good. So far no problem yet . This is a highly recommended bluetooth speaker.
