After I Buy Philips AJ7040D 30 Pin iPhone Speaker
I spent hours looking for the perfect iPhone docking speakers for my iPhone 4s. Finally i decided to go with this Philips one. Right away I loved the look it had- very sleek and sophisitcated. i also needed a remote so this was a giveaway!
Right out of the package, i was surprised that the player wasnt as big as the picture makes it out to be. But it wasnt a huge disappointment. i immediately plugged it in and attached my phone, and it synced right away.
The music sounds very crisp. i love that i can play Pandora without all the interference and noise :) Even the normal radio sounds really good- almost as if it was coming from my iPhone.
The remote works great! i havent tried the player without the adapter yet but plan to often when we go camping. its small and easy to carry/transport so that wont be an issue!
Overall i love it!! glad i went with this!
Bought my 17 year old son and myself one of these each for Christmas. The sound and quality of this little unit is outstanding. Very pleased with this purchase. An added bonus is that his phone fits while still in it's otterbox defender case and mine fits while still in it's otterbox commuter series case! Most docking systems will not accommodate a phone while still in these cases.

I just ordered this speaker dock yesterday morning from Amazon LLC and received the item this morning. Amazon Prime is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI've been using the speakers all morning and have tested the radio capability, the iPod nano (4th gen), the iPod Touch (2nd gen), as well as the iPhone 4s. All of them work perfectly. I haven't had a problem using any of these devices but as you can tell, I have not tried using any non-Apple products.
The sound that projects from these speakers is phenomenal, especially for the price I paid for them. I don't know all the logistics and technicality of speakers but the sound is real crisp, clear and the bass is good. I'm only using them for general listening purposes. I'm not using it for watching movies, mixing music or editing audio, so I can't speak for these purposes but it's perfect for what I want.
The remote is also very handy and works well! The battery is already included in the remote.
The box says that there is a limited one year warranty. I wonder if they will replace the speaker if it malfunctions. If I have any other issues as time goes on, I'll update this review. For now, I absolutely recommend this product!
Got this product for my new apartment to serve as an alarm clock, radio and iPod dock. The speakers are very clear even at high sound levels and the bass is respectable for a unit this size. I really need an iPod dock with a clock and an alarm and this fit the bill perfectly. The clock will sync with my iPod so i don't have to worry about messing with Daylight savings and stuff like that. The dock connector on the bass swivels just a bit so that iPods of all sizes will fit safely and securely even with a case on, also it seems to be well built and not likely to break. Haven't had this system very long but so far I am very impressed and would recommend this product. In fact, after seeing mine my sister decided to order one for herself. The radio works well and receives a signal even in my basement. Couldn't really ask for a much better system especially at Amazon's great price. Well worth considering instead of an iHome.'
ReplyDeleteUpdate: After using the product a bit more, one change that I would make would be to add to ability to run on batteries instead of just AC power. Also in some songs the bass seems a little high by default but not enough to ruin the song or change my recommendation
This thing gets LOUD! I bought it for my girlfriend for christmas and was a bit worried on the quality of the music and the dock itself. But boy was i surprised. Its very user friendly and sounds just great. Also charges her iphone 4s. Very nice dock .

ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect speaker set for traveling. It's light and extremely compact while kicking out awesome sound. It's dual voltage, where if you've seen any of my other reviews is key for me as I travel internationally constantly. I ended up getting rid of my Bose MusicMonitor Speakers that were geared toward travel because it was just too inconvenient to constantly tie up the wires and keep everything together.
ReplyDeleteWith Philip's speaker, I can just pack and go. This isn't as small as I'm used to, but I can still fit it in my carry on with a couple of outfits and toiletries. As far as sound, again, great sound for the price and the size. I'm talking nice bass, clear sound, full enough for me. One other thing I'd like to mention is out of all the ipod docking systems I've seen, this is the best, most inclusive remote--very easy to use too! Most remotes with docking systems I have just used for volume/power, but they have never been all-inclusive like this one.
Love this speaker!
