Wonderful artists recorded with Barbra and what wonderful performances... Any listener familiar with Barbra, knows that every track she records is perfected to beyond perfection. Those of us lucky enough to have lived through these years of Barbra's duets remember how exciting it was when they hit the charts..
I would highly recommend this fabulous collection.. In truth..any recording Barbra has released would be highly recommend.. She is simply the worlds greatest artist..

  1. This is an awesome story of what God can do in our lives, when we let Him. Everything in our lives has the potential of making us better or bitter. Denise allowed God to weave the bitterness she feels into a better understanding of what being Christ-like should look like. Then she followed through with the lesson He had taught. After reading Johnny Cornflakes, my prayer is that I will do the same in my life and be an example of Christ's unconditional love to others.
Thank you, Denise, for listening when God urged you to tell Johnny's story. It isn't just Johnny's story. It is so much more!!

  2. Bring tissue when reading Johnny Cornflakes. This is a story in which a southern belle makes new roots in the Kingdom of God. Johnny Cornflakes is an open, raw, honest examination of how we, sometimes as Christians, can be unforgivingly unloving to those who do not look like us. We are not loving them the way Jesus intended, with His love. Be prepared, in this book, to be faced with the ugliness that may be in your own heart. This heart-warming story of Johnny Cornflakes has many laughs to balance the seriousness of the book. At the end of this book, do not be surprised if you have an overwhelming craving for some fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies.

  3. This is a very good account of a Christian community and the greatest they could do for God and His people. Johnny Cornflakes was a man who was crippled and drank way to much. The kind and hard working Christians helped everyone that God put in their path. This is a book you don't want to put down until you have finished.

  5. Don't read this book if you're comfortable in your own little world. It will reveal your selfishness.
    Read it to be challenged.

  6. A deeply moving, beautifully told story that reaches deep in the reader's heart and tugs the heartstrings. Not only does Johnny Cornflakes grab your heartstrings, but other characters will pull at your heartstrings as well. I loved Mrs. Bena and found myself wanting to know more about her. Be prepared: you'll want to finish this one a.s.a.p. It's not a book you'll want to put down. Denise George brings the reader along with her on this journey, and you as a reader feel as if you are in the story with her. I was totally hooked after a few pages. It will be my gift book to family members and friends this Christmas...I want to share this story with my family and friends.

  7. In the story of Johnny Cornflakes: A Story about Loving the Unloved, Denise George weaves a story that could have taken place in any inner city. The author shows how she, as a young bride, moves from rejection of those in poverty into a strong woman whose love and Christian growth overcome obstacles. And in so doing, shows the love of Christ as recorded in Matthew 25:40 (NIV), "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
You'll laugh, cry and bond with the characters within these pages. Once again, George uses her skill and talent as a storyteller to show readers what it means to care for others more than self.
