My daily dose of Jam

After I Buy HMDX HX P230RD Bluetooth Wireless Strawberry

HMDX HX P230RD Bluetooth Wireless Strawberry

I have purchased three different HMDX Jam speakers like this one. I was amazed by the loud volume, this little thing can rock the whole room louder than most cheapy computer speakers. The first time i heard it was a gray one... after reading all the other reviews, and other folks complaining about the duh duh sound you hear... i realized i was happy with mine, and had no hiss, no duh duh duh sound, no battery life problems.. here is the thing, on the bottom right of the JAM speaker jar is a small rectangle sticker. I have seen 2212 and 2612 and 2712
the price of the item seems to affect which version release of the hardware you receive
the the 2612 and 2712 look the same on the unit itself... only the sticker on the case is different... but on my 2712 version jam speakers there is no problems at all.
consider contacting the seller and asking exactly which version of the jam speaker you will get.
im happy with all off them , and you do get what you pay for.
and if you use an i-phone. then im sorry.
i have had no problems, and i do not use apple devices

Zimmer Flexes his Muscles

Great Deals Of The Last Samurai Original Picture

The Last Samurai Original Picture

For those people who question Zimmer as a romantic composer, "The Last Samurai" strickes down naysayers. This score is one of Zimmer's finest and demonstrates his ability to score any type of movie. I expected a Gladiator type soundtrack when the movie came out and was pleasantly suprised to see Zimmer take this score in a different direction.

Utlizing Japanese styles and instruments, this soundtrack captivates the senses with peaceful and melancholy themes anchored by violyns and cellos. Unlike his more recent scores, Zimmer sticks to the orchestra and avoids synthesizers. For a movie placed in the nineteenth century, this score appropriately accompanys the film's tranquil and chaotic atmospheres.

"A Way of Life" begins the score mixing the beautiful and slow swelling themes of the countryside while conveying a passionate sense of desperation to hold onto the past. Zimmer shows that he can work at all speeds: from slow romantic themes to moderate and intense action cues. Whenever I hear "Spectres in the Fog," I feel the impending charge of an unknown enemy hidden out of sight. It is in this track where we hear one of the best action themes that I have returned to time and time again since the soundtrack released in 2003. The mixture of the romantic and action cues culminates with "The Way of the Sword" and the final track, "A Small measure of Peace." This last piece is haunting and beautiful and is the best of the score. It demonstrates Zimmer's abilities to send chills down your spine.

Anyone who loves Hans Zimmer, classical movie scores, or Japanese musical styles will love this soundtrack. The legacy of Zimmer's score will outlast the movie itself which is no easy feat.

Why You Ned to Buy DAddario EXL110BT Electric Strings Balanced

DAddario EXL110BT Electric Strings Balanced

Once I find something I like, I usually stick with it for years. While I've used D'Addario strings on my acoustic guitars for well over 15 years, I've always stuck with Ernie Ball's Super Slinky (9-42) on my Stratocaster electric, and that's about 20 years. The new nickel D'Addario XLs (10-46) are considered extra light (that's what the XL is for), however, they're still heavier than the Super Slinkies, and the difference is noticeable in the playing. I've had the new XL's on for only a short time today and even though they're a tad heavier, I like the feel, even though more force is required for bending notes. That said, the XLs feel a touch more stable and allow more of a "hit" when picking or chording without jangling. I actually felt myself to be a tad faster on the slightly heavier strings, which wasn't something I was expecting. It may be that the Slinkies are actually a bit too slinky for my various styles of playing--and it only took me 20 years to find this out! It will require several weeks of playing to really test out these new strings, but they seem like winners, as long as I can get used to the additional force required for bending notes. The overall feel is that the strings stay under my fingers and I don't have to play with such a light touch as I did on the Ernie Ball's. I also have a set of Ernie's 10-46 (same weight as the D'Addario) and in a few months I'll try them out for a comparison.

The tone of the XLs is bold and powerful, fatter than the Slinkies and therefore a bit funkier. I like them a lot, but only time and days of playing will really tell the tale. It means I'm going to have to experiment with my amp and pickup positions to find the various new sounds I like. The great news is that on first inspection and playing, they feel GOOD and solid, and that's quite a compliment from a picky picker. It looks like I may be a D'Addario convert for my electric guitars as well as my acoustics.

Review excerpt from Music and Media Focus

Great Deals Of The Healing Waterfall Angel Pouring

The Healing Waterfall Angel Pouring

While there are many guided meditation programs available on the market these days, a number of factors make some stand out above the others. Those factors include concept, writing, narration, pacing, and background music, all of which are given the highest professional consideration in The Healing Waterfall series. All music is composed by company founder, Max Highstein, an award-winning recording artist with decades of experience in this field, and an impeccable ear for just the right music to go with each program.

Like the original recording in the series, the imagery in this new one also features a serene forest walk, mountain stream, and waterfall with an inviting pool below, and has the added benefit of an angelic figure at the top, pouring healing light into the water." For me, it didn't take long after the meditation started to feel myself becoming immersed in its calm ambiance with the cares of the day beginning to drift away on the soothing music of the piano, keyboards, and flute. The narrator's voice has just the right kind of tone and cadence for a guided meditation. I appreciated how detailed the imagery was and the way it draws you into the scene and makes it feel like you are there. The meditation runs 17 minutes and is a good length for a quick getaway, to recharge on a break from work, after a long day, when you feel stressed, or as a peaceful start to your morning. The meditation is followed by the musical soundtrack without narration which also runs 17 minutes.

As mentioned, there are many programs on the market for relaxation, stress relief, etc. yet few are on the level of The Healing Waterfall, with its blend of exquisite music, imaginative scripts, attention to detail, and degree of professionalism. With an impressive background like he has, it is no surprise that Max Highstein has become a leader in the field of relaxation music and guided meditation. I'm glad to have discovered this series and know exactly where to go when I'm in need of a calm supportive space to unwind in.

Why You Ned to Buy Taylor Swift Womens Wonderstruck Parfum

Taylor Swift Womens Wonderstruck Parfum

I LOVE this perfume! I've never tried a celebrity perfume before but Taylor did a SUPERB job! I love her music so when I saw it in my Ulta store, I was smelled it out of curiosity and then it took me about 5 seconds to decide to buy it and that it was worth the $60ish for the biggest bottle. I also want to find the roll on for my bag and just to dab on when I just want a little bit on. I didn't tell my boyfriend that I bought it, cause I wanted his untainted reaction and when I saw him later that day, he hugged me and immediately pulled me closer and asked what I was wearing and then he spend the night leaning over to smell me. And even a couple months later, he still

I'm not an expert on perfume so I have no idea what the individual scents are, but I can tell that there is a vanilla smell to it and just smells warm to me. When I spray it on my body (wrists, neck) I find that it lasts about 6 hours, but when I spray it on my clothes (usually just one squirt where I try to get my neck and the upper part of my shirt at the same time) the scent lasts until I wash my shirt even if it's a week later.

I think this perfume has become my signature smell.

Days After I Buy This Just Another Sunday A Novel

Just Another Sunday A Novel

I obtained this product mainly to convert HDMI built-in audio to analog audio. This is to use with a Roku device, because my A/V audio receiver does not have HDMI support. My TV's all have HDMI for video, so I do not need - and did not test the HDMI to VGA converter (but I see many customer reviewers have tested it and I refer you to their reviews of picture quality).

In order to convert digital to analog audio, the IPEVO device must include a stereo DAC chip. A standalone DAC can cost anywhere from $20 (most of the cost of this unit) to $5,000 and more. Of course, this IPEVO unit is not an audiophile product, especially given the modest price, so one should not judge it as such.

Instead, I see this product as providing picture and sound for video viewing - usually a less critical activity than listening to your favorite music album.

However, I did compare the sound quality of the IPEVO to a much more expensive DAC on the same audio (by passing my PC's audio through its HDMI output). The IPEVO sound quality was clearly not as good - for example, it added some sibilance on vocals. However, overall the sound quality was just fine for typical TV or movie viewing - a wide response, including good bass response. You would indeed need to pay significantly more to get better performance.

So, if the IPEVO inputs and outputs match your products and your needs, then I can recommend this product on the basis of its price performance.

Great Deals Of Arias Mezzo Soprano Schirmer Opera Anthology

Arias Mezzo Soprano Schirmer Opera Anthology

This book is a must-own for any mezzo-soprano (as are the corresponding volumes for any other voice type.) I daresay this is the anthology standard for aspiring opera stars. I purchased mine when starting college and learned my first aria from it--"Non so piu, cosa son". Ten years later I am still finding pieces that fit my voice as it grows into works by Bizet, Massenet, Donizetti. And I know that I will continue to use it in years to come as I grow into the luscious arias of Dalilah or perhaps Mascagni's Lola.

Having had the opportunity to work with Dr. Robert Larsen, I can say that he is one of the most knowledgeable people in the business about opera and how to get young people started. The translations provided are not poetic--they are accurate, true translations! The plot summaries are brief but helpful, enough to get you started, but short enough to encourage you to do your own work. Larsen notates alternate endings, appogioturi, and other traditional performance notes. I guarantee, if you buy this book, you'll use it until it falls apart. I'm on my second one now.

After I Buy Ni No Kuni Wrath Playstation 3

Ni No Kuni Wrath Playstation 3

I have waited quite a time to get this game, and it was well worth the wait! I grew up with games such as Chrono Trigger,
Final Fantasy IV through X and I have been very disappointed at this gaming generation as it has become increasingly difficult
to find JRPGs that are as good as the classics I grew up with, but this title shines a whole new ray of hope towards the genre.
I am very happy to see that Level 5 has not only been making great RPGs for a generation, but to see that they
have actually been improving with each oncoming game brings me hope, especially after picking up this game that has been raved
across the RPG communities before its release today.

One of the things I am happy to say about this
game is that this has a beautiful world map with mountains, pine trees, and gives the player a feeling that he or she is
actually undergoing an adventure, as opposed to linear paths followed by save points and doors. This is something that
many RPGs I feel are lacking today, but Level 5 really outdid themselves with this!
I also like how this game actually starts out in a somewhat modern, realistic town with cars, street signs, and
people with your typical modern day homes, and all of a sudden, the main character is summoned to a magical world that no ordinary, every day citizen would know about. The game really exhibits a feel of actually being in it with such a
neat start to it. One of the other things I have really enjoyed about this game are the anime cutscenes, it really
adds quite a unique touch to it. I especially loved to actually have the option to watch the cutscenes in its intended
language, Japanese. God only knows how many RPGs I have played through that I wished had the option to have
Japanese audio. I was expecting this game to be like the rest of the localized US versions of RPGs, just English
audio as an option, so this is quite a treat. Back to the game itself, I enjoy the real time/traditional combat system.
It combines the best of both worlds. You have the enemy roaming around, and you have the option to approach it, and
start a battle, while being able to move around at all degrees during combat and selecting the attack command just like
one would with a traditional 1980's-1990's JRPG. The music has a beautiful orchestrated touch to it, while using
other old world instruments.

Overall, I am very, very pleased with this game and this is certainly the kind of RPG I have been waiting for since
I first bought my PS3 in 2007. I would highly recommend this to any RPG fan who grew up with RPGs from the 1990's
like I have.

Strong and Subtle album

After I Buy Mystic Dance

Mystic Dance

This was the album that prompted me to hire Maggie Sansone and three musicians to accompany her for my wedding last weekend. Having gone to the Maryland Renn Faire for over ten years, I have long been around her playing and have found her compositions both ancient in their appeal and near perfection for anyone interested in primarily medievalesque and Celtic pieces. This album varies a bit more from her others, touching into some more middle eastern themes (which worked well for the belly dancer) as well as reaching into some more tribal themes to a light extent. If you are looking for more traditional Celtic dulcimer I recommend Into the Light. She does one thing I particularly enjoy that other Celtic/medieval musicians do not, while the songs on her albums compliment and flow well together, she does not have the simple variations on a theme that many artists do after recording two to three solid tracks. Each song is fresh, crisp, and with an air of its own. I highly recommend if you have enjoyed artists such as John Doan and Loreena McKennit (instrumental, not vocal pieces). We will be hiring them for another performance later this year, they brought such vitality and spirit to their music I am sure you will be swept up by it.

After I Buy Plantronics Voyager Legend Bluetooth Headset

Plantronics Voyager Legend Bluetooth Headset

Over the years I've owned many headsets including both the Plantronics Voyager Pro HD and my personal favorite, the Voyager 520. Overall size, weight and discomfort were the key reasons I dumped the Pro HD and stayed with the 520. Like any other guy that's looking for an edge in com gear, I jumped at the opportunity to take the Plantronics Voyager Legend for a test drive. After 5 days of continuous use, these are my thoughts.

The first thing that hit me immediately was that unlike previous Voyager models, the Legend had a great feel and was light weight. The trademark swivel boom is still there too. I really like the fact that I can pair it with more than one piece of Android gear without the usual punching in of a link up code. Unfortunately, on my work's non Android duty phone the link up code still had to be punched in. I was pleasantly surprised with the ease and flawless delivery of voice command. No downloads or software were required. Its pretty cut and dry. Just say answer to accept a call, or say ignore to reject it. It'll even check your battery level by tapping on the voice button. The mute button is a sweet feature.

I gave this model the real test when I was in a crowded grocery store the first night. The clarity of incoming and outgoing calls was simply outstanding. Unlike my older model that had the tendency to pick up almost every surrounding noise, the on board filtering system on this unit is first rate. Callers also noted the improved clarity. Even when I was at the beach overall clarity was sweet. Android users will find the app for Find My Headset a plus. This app will also let me view my headset's battery meter.

Battery wise, I got a little over six hours of juice during the work day before I had to hit the charger. On my down time, I went two days without charging this unit. My only ping on the Voyager Legend is the manufacturer's switch to proprietary charging station and its too short cable and magnetic plug. Even though the headset can be juiced up by placing the unit on the dedicated charger, I liked the older micro USB charging station and its longer power cable better.

The Plantronics Voyager Legend comes with a USB charging cable, wall charger, three ear tips, foam covers and a start guide. Its also backed with Plantronics one year warranty. Unlike others, this company scores big with a customer friendly website and working toll free technical support phone numbers.

I have to say that the Plantronics team really out did themselves on this one. The overall quality, comfort and features have exceeded my expectations. For me, the Plantronics Voyager Legend is an outstanding piece of com gear that delivers.

Days After I Buy This Fallen Tree Games Quell

Fallen Tree Games Quell

Honestly, I wasn't very excited about this game reading the Product Description of it. I figured I'd try it because it's the FAOTD, but didn't expect to like it. I am now addicted and have been playing it on and off for a couple hours.

The tutorial to get you started is really helpful and the in game hints (which you can turn off through the options menu) are great to introduce you to new hazards and elements. When you hit "Play" it takes you to a bookshelf that is labeled with a year and three picture frames. Click on a picture frame and there's four levels to play. It's a unique way to set up the stage select. The levels are fun, they add new elements all the time that keeps it interesting. It also tells you the minimum number of moves you can beat it in, so you can go back to try to get a perfect score. There are achievements you can get for various things and you can earn coins to unlock hints. The graphics are crisp and the music is good (but I always turn music and sounds off anyway).

The details are what makes this game 5 stars. It would be a fun game no matter what, but the extras make all the difference. Even if it doesn't look like a fun game based on the description, give it a chance and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

After I Buy The Backyardigans Season 2

The Backyardigans Season 2

I bought two of these, one for a my friend's 1 yr old and one for my 4 yr old. My son LOVES this toy and sleeps with it every night. Lately his imagination picked up and he's been afraid of monsters and creatures but now that he has this, he says the light and music scares all frightening things including mosquitoes away.
I was concerned that the music would be too loud at night but it doesn't seem to effect him. He holds it tight and is soon asleep. The music, when on low, is still loud to me when the lights are off and there are no other noises to distract him. He loves it and carries it around even during the day.
The light is bright at night also but when turned to face away from my son and his eyes are closed, it doesn't seem to bother his attempts at falling asleep. I definately recommend this.

Well worth the extra $$$

After I Buy Fearless

Fearless

Taylor Swift is one talented teen! She had a hand again in every song on her highly anticipated sophomore CD - this time she wrote 7, and co-wrote 6. The first single, "Love Story" is a good example of how she can combine great lyrics with a catchy beat - and then produce a smash crossover hit. The most remarkable thing about the album is that it is incredibly balanced...and almost every song is so good that it could be released as a radio single. I think it is now safe to say that she is a rising star who will just keep on rising!

Taylor opens the album with the strong title track "Fearless", and ends the album with the powerful theme song of the summer Olympics, "Change". In the middle is a sure huge hit "The Way I Loved You" - a song that she wrote with John Rich. "Fifteen" is her most personal song, a bittersweet gem where she sings about her freshman year and her best friend for the past 5 years, Abigail. "White Horse" (which has already been featured on Grey's Anatomy) is a well written tearjerker - a heartfelt song that is just waiting to become her next blockbuster hit. A good example of her more acoustic side is "Breathe" - a simple song written with Colbie Caillat who also sings background vocals in the song. Taylor's writing seems to have matured and grown in the past 2 years. Take "The Best Day" for example - which is a completely different but awesome song, which is written about her family. She appeals to a wide audience, and executes this so well here on Fearless.

It's incredible how quickly Taylor crossed over and became not only a big country star, but a huge pop star also. It took only her second single - Teardrops On My Guitar - for her to become amazingly popular in mainstream music! Then she continued to release 3 more hits (two of them #1) off her debut album. Talk about a hard act to follow - but I can't see this trend stopping anytime soon with Fearless - this album is a major home run. She isn't the same country artist who sang "Tim Mcgraw", and I understand that some people will not be happy about that. If there are any flaws here, it would be that many of the songs are pop-country hits which are about the same subject - teens. You can't please everyone, but look for her to just become even bigger and more popular, with more #1's and crossover pop smash hits. Taylor's sophomore CD is very well done...filled with excellent, self-penned, radio-friendly top 40 hits! Overall ~ 9/10 ~

Beautiful movie preaches grace and forgiveness

Days After I Buy This Les Miserables HD

Les Miserables HD

After seeing this, my husband remarked, "So...'Les Miserables' refers to EVERYBODY."

I have doubts about the wisdom of adapting successful musicals to the big screen. IMO, the artificiality of the musical form is better suited to the artificiality of the stage. There are exceptions, of course. Les Miserables is one, though I must confess there were a couple of times I found myself wishing for a non-musical version with the same cast. The sheer intensity of the acting carries this movie. Hugh Jackman's Jean Valjean and Anne Hathaway's Fantine are simply stunning. The steely integrity of Russell Crowe's underplayed Javert rings true as he pursues Jean Valjean to uphold the letter of the law. Lesser acting would have made this movie cringe-worthy. As it is, it's a must-see. Tissues required. It's been a long time since I've seen a finale as rousing and awesome as this.

Others can debate the various merits of voices, range, musicality and production values. I'd say see this. It's one of the world's greatest stories.

I have grown up with Bonnie Raitt, literally (well, not like next door, but she is maybe 2-3 years older than I am) I started buying her albums before I could drive, starting with Give it Up, which I thought was her first recording. Over the years I have replaced all my albums with cassettes then went from them to CD's. When I found this on Amazon I was so tickled! When I got and listened to it that turned into such joy I can not express! I may sound like some kind of freaky stalker, but, I have listened to this over and over because it is a live recording done in front of maybe 50-80 people and Ms Raitt talks to the audience all the way through, you feel like you have gotten to spend an evening actually WITH her. It is such an intimate recording, I can not say enough how much I love it. I have bought it and sent it as a gift to others that I know love her work like I do. If you are a Bonnie fan, you just MUST have this recording. I think the word is out because it already take quite awhile to get one! But, it is worth the wait!!!

Great Album!

Great Deals Of Hell On Heels Pistol Annies

Hell On Heels Pistol Annies

"Hell on Heels" is the debut album from Pistol Annies. This country super group features Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe, and Angaleena Presley. They are incredibly talented musicians, singers, and song writers, and anyone who listens will be impressed with their brand of country music. Their songs cover everything from domestic frustration ("The Hunter's Wife"), the female virtue ("Beige") and good ol' fashioned rebellion ("Hell on Wheels" and "Takin' Pills"). The music is awesome and features a classic country sound with some blues, honky-tonk and bluegrass influences. All three women share lead vocals on different parts of different songs, and the results are amazing. Their hooks are catchy, their harmonies and melodies are phenomenal, and the chemistry between them is perfect. This is definitely worth a listen!

WHOA! LOVED it..BUY It!!

Great Deals Of Connected Connections 1 ebook

Connected Connections 1 ebook

There are a couple of things I want to mention before I get into this review. First off, I need to tell you that when you finish the Epilogue, you will say to yourself HOLY CRAP or something of that variety. This book's ending is...wow. There is a cliffhanger per se, but trust me when I say that it made the book THAT MUCH BETTER! Yes, there is going to be a second book. Do I recommend you wait to read this book until the second one comes out - NO! This book is so good that you need to read it now. This brings me to the second point, once you finish this book you will need at least a day or two to detox from it and process what you read. I finished this book weeks ago and it has still been on my mind.

Dahlia has been with her boyfriend, Ben, for as long as she can remember and she loves him. Then one night at a bar she meets River Wilde, lead singer of The Wilde Ones, and their connection was instantaneous and it confused the crap out of Dahlia. Despite their connection, Dahlia knew she couldn't act on her feelings, heck she didn't even understand her feelings, so she left and returned to Ben.

Years later, Dahlia's life is marred by tragedy, but she finds herself face to face with River Wilde once more. And even though years have pasted since that one night, the connection is still there - this feeling like they were soul mates. This book was a love story told so beautifully you were completely caught up in these characters.

Despite being a love story, there were some...odd occurrences. I say odd because while I was reading I had no idea why some of these random things kept happening. But rest assured, there is an answer and the ending will shed light on some of the more curious happenings.

Now let me address the ending a little bit more. This was by far one of the best "cliffhanger" endings I have read in a very long time. I literally screamed out loud when this book finished demanding to know more. To me it put everything that happened into place and really set me up for the second book. The ending totally answered some questions that I had lingering throughout the book. I know everyone has a different opinion on these type of endings but I absolutely loved it and now cannot wait until the second book, TORN comes out. I know it will definitely be worth the wait.

I am officially a full fledge card member of the Kim Karr fan club - in fact I may even be up for President. I love her story and love her ideas. I even love her more that she named a character Ben Covington which coincidentally has the same name as one of my favorite characters from TV - Scott Speedman's character from Felicity. She also found a way to incorporate Kellan Kyle (Thoughtless series) and Jake Weathers (The Mighty Storm) into the story as well - brilliant! And if you need yet another reason why this book rocks, the chapter titles are songs thereby creating an amazing music playlist to listen along to while reading! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Wow! A Great Little Device and a Nice Price Too

Why You Ned to Buy Can You Imagine Pocket Plasma

Can You Imagine Pocket Plasma

Just received and fired up the green "pocket plasma" device.

I bought this as a test-drive for some SFX I'm needing for a steampunk prop, and wasn't expecting much to be honest.

Well, it blew me away. The display is bright and crisp, the patterns pretty much like what you see on the picture. I was completely surprised by just how impressive this inexpensive little gem is. The sound-to-light feature is especially neat (though I hadn't intended to use that particular feature I am now feverishly wondering how to incorporate it into my prop).

Admittedly it's early days. If the device fails to live up to my first impressions of it I'll come back and say so.

[EDIT] I've obtained several of these items now and I've found that the "static" display can vary greatly, from a very attractive lightning effect to a less striking "hair-like" corona. The effect is focused on all of them by placing fingers on the glass of course, but when the display is too "busy" for your taste I suggest switching to sound-actuated mode, which gives a different and quite striking effect. The vagaries of the tolerances of the individual electronic components must play a large part in the final effect, I think. Having said that, only one out of the six I bought showed the "overly busy" display. [/EDIT]

The device consists of a sandwich of glass discs enclosing a white gridwork, across which the green lightning-like discharges arc. These can be affected by placing your fingers on the disc to attract the streaks of "lightning".

The glass disc assembly is permanently mounted to a box of electronics, which is about 2.5 inches square and about an inch thick. You'll need two triple A batteries to power it up, and a teeny Phillips-head screwdriver to open the battery compartment. Don't over-tighten the screws when you put the lid back on. A switch on the top of the box turns the unit on and selects sound mode or continuous display.

The box has a belt/pocket clip on the back. In my opinion the electronics box makes clipping this to a shirt pocket impractical.

I intend some warranty-voiding shenanigans to incorporate this device into a larger prop, so I won't be using that feature.

[EDIT 1/18/13] I did indeed incorporate this device into the "Aethero-Galvanic Exciter" for my steampunk ray-gun "Colonel Moran's Aetheric Neuralizer", where its display is visual confirmation that the power-supply safety relay has actuated and the effects in the gun itself now have power (so if they aren't working there's a real problem and not just a flat battery).

I display the prop with the disc in full, glorious action, and it never fails to draw positive comment, and I took first prize in the costume contest for which I built the prop. The visual impact of what is in reality a bunch of pipe fittings and a wooden box is solely due to the display of the Lumin Disc and that of the plasma effect in the raygun. My steampunk prop looks like it works, and that is worth every penny I paid for the disc.[/EDIT]

I'm going to buy more of these.

Why You Ned to Buy redmotion games Chromasphere

redmotion games Chromasphere

I first heard Anyone Who Had a Heart in late December/early January on WFUV in New York. I just caught the last minute or so, but I was listening with headphones and was hooked from the start. I immediately looked it up on Amazon and preordered, and it's been getting frequent rotation on my CD player since it arrived. I wasn't familiar with Ms. Lynne until I read an interview with her in The New York Times, and since then I've discovered I HAD heard of her before (she's featured in the Bridget Jones's Diary soundtrack for starters). The album backstory is just as interesting as the album--Barry Manilow--BARRY MANILOW!--suggested that the Dusty Springfield catalog would be a great vehicle for Ms. Lynne, and he was absolutely right. The musicians and arrangements are a perfect compliment to Ms. Lynne's song stylings, there's not a bad song on the album. This will be on many a reviewer's end of the year Top 10 albums list. Perfect music for a rainy Saturday night by one's self; even better when shared with someone special. Let me know which song becomes your favorite.
